I’m too lazy to make this a cohesive review, so here are my random thoughts.
We did the fantasy genre in the first book and book two goes into the comic book world. I’m hoping the next book will be about the Horror genre. Can you see Jackson picking apart Freddy, Jason, and those creepy dolls?
Everything a reader loved and/or hated in book one is also in book two. I think we all know what to expect from Jackson now, so we wont be begging for the torture of his treacherous family.
Jackson picks apart the comic book world with ease. He does everything from mocking, killing, enthralling, and seducing. Good all around villian stuff.
What I didnt care for was Jackson’s “baby momma”. I dont know why everyone likes to make pregnancy so dramatic. Overly dramatic until its painful to the reader. Everytime she was in a scene, I became immediately annoyed. Her last ending scene. I didnt find it cute in the least.
Alot of popular comic book heros get a nod. I like the interaction with the narrator. Curious of this portion is written in the Kindle/paperback or just in the Audio version. Wouldn’t make sense if you were reading it yourself but maybe the scene is written differently.
My favorite quote: I cant tell you because a certain site will block my review as they did the last… I’m on the naughty list I guess!!! ??
Dear Jackson,
What is your problem with 3 Stars? That’s a pretty good rating. Even though you were speaking of folks like me, I laughed at your 5 minute monologue about goodreads reviews and star ratings. You claim to be annoyed that reviewers expected more bloodshed in book one and that they dont realize that this is a comedy… however in the very next chapter you killed a bunch of Superheros for trying to protect a civilan. In the first book you killed the Countess for just talking about extorting you; but Randy took your power, threw you in prison, and tried to kill you… and you gave him a slap on the wrist. I’m just saying that the only family exemptions should go to Mommys and Grandmas.
Now I give you props because not many people can make a sequel as good or better than the first. This book was just as entertaining as Book One. I knew what to expect from your series. Honestly, I didnt realize book one was a comedy. It was the DEAL OF THE DAY and the summary seemed liked a interesting story. I gave you a shot.
I didnt point this out in my first review but I like how you handle the introduction of each chapter by giving a quick description of what’s gonna happen. It means that the you’re strong enough in your writing skill to give your own spoilers and still entertain me.
My issue with you is how much you contradict yourself. You gave us the Villian Rules but then you broke most of them. Take a look at the Trust Rule that you went on and on about in book one. With a rule like that, why are you so quick to give this chick Goddess powers in your realm?
This isn’t out of spite, it’s just true. I think it’s a good book so…
3 Stars ???- Good Book. I like the overall concept and it was delivered well. Most common ranking for a book I enjoyed and look forward to the next
