Really can’t understand the high praise some reviewers gave this. Yes, it is definitely a lot like Firefly, but it is just a poor imitation. All I can figure is that the fans are so desperate to revisit Firefly that they’ll latch onto anything that is close.
I made it through the first book and liked it well enough, but had to bail halfway through the second book. The writing is average and I really didn’t care for the narration. Instead of getting better, it was getting worse. I started to think about spending 85 hrs with these characters and decided that I didn’t really like any of them and definitely wasn’t enthralled with either the writing or the narration, so why bother?
