Before I start I have to point out that the Narrator is amazing and this negative review is solely on the story.
I made it halfway into chapter 3 and stoppede.
The story stats by introducing the gods and their game. The God that the MC ends up working for is supposedly his father and his grandmother is supposed to be another one of the gods. This God then ends up screwing the MC over and treats him like trash while complaining that all the other gods hate him for no reason.
Then there is the MC. He is an idiot and apparently a big pushover and wimp. Despite having years of training and being a gamer for ‘decades’ he is unable to cope with a simple zombie. If I were to ask you or anyone else what the most common monster in a game is the answer would be Rats, Zombies and Skeletons yet the MC hacks a zombie on the hands and wonder why it is not doing anything?! MC also overreact and screams like and idiot when confused instead of staying levelheaded and analysing the situation.
I bought this long ago for a credit and found it in my library while having nothing else to listen to. Quests I’ll have to keep looking for something to listen to because it will not be this stoey. If I ever take the time to listen to the whole story I’ll update this review but in the meantime I’m not desperate enough that I want to listen to this even with the promise of that the story gets better at the ending or in book two.
