Ellie Messe! Where have you been? This is the first book I have had the pleasure of experiencing and it is a wonderful listen! Devina is reeling off of her cheating boyfriend of 5 years. She is heartbroken and even willing to forgive and take him back. She goes to speed dating with her best friend and meets Logan. Logan is a wealthy businessman and is taken with Devina. He can see her for who she is, and when they meet again, he devises a plan to win her heart. First, let me say that the characters in this book are so well written that they feel familiar. Devina is a struggling woman, but with good guidance is finding herself. Logan though at times harsh with his comments is nothing short of wonderful. Logan helps edge Devina back to the living and win back Cole’s love, but is this what Devina truly wants? Laced with humor, warmth, good intentions and a incredibly slow burn, this book flowed smoothly into my heart. You will smile a lot, even laugh out loud, yell with frustration and love with your whole heart.
Sarah Puckett always has a way with her narrations that suck you in and make you want to stay. This book has some intense feelings as well as humorous lines. Puckett delivers with touching emotion as Devina finds herself with the help of Logan. Her comedic timing creates laugh out loud moments. It’s a listen that leaves you wanting more of them.
