TLDR; This is a solid book/s, for a single credit this is well worth your time if you’re a fan of the lone survivor who’s TOO good type of story.
It’s a post-civilization collapse, Battle (The main character’s last name), is the lone survivor that gets dragged back to the world and needs to right all its wrongs. The author is self-aware enough that there are some good self-referencing lines. Those lines act as a good anchor for the story, it’s not meant as a serious survival style story, it’s an action movie with big explosions, too much good luck, and a rag-tag crew.
If you already enjoy that style of book this is a good grab, if you’re looking to test the waters this is a great entry point. There are more books in the series but these wrap up well as a potential ending point. So if you want more there’s more, if you’ve decided it’s not for you, then you can get off the ride at a good point.
