The plot here is basic gamelit. A group of people is thrust into a game-like situation, in this case, Fortnite. It’s not completely bad, although this audio version has its problems. On a positive note, the over the top humor in this one is truly funny. It’s definitely Deadpool funny, as violence and cursing abound. The story itself does not become overtly predictable, and the two main points of view are entirely different. As for the performances, this is where it falters. Kafer does a great job on his side. He kind of sounds like a cross between Bruce Willis and Duffman. His sections are very funny, and the sarcasm was right up my alley. However the voice of Halle was a different matter.I usually listen in my car, and her voice was very hard to hear, even at full volume. I found myself skipping a lot of her chapters due to my inability to hear what was going on. The ones I could hear were just as snarky as the ones by Kafer. All in all, it’s not bad, and if you’re into violent comedies, this one will be a good fit. I was given a promo copy of this audio at my request, and have voluntarily left this review.
