This book has two main point of views, Captain Ethan Stone (Jeffrey Kafer) and First Lieutenant Jennifer Hale (Emily Woo Zeller) delivered with amazing voice acting. Stone reminds me of what would happen if the twitch streamer Dr. Disrespect was drafted into a new military branch Space Force (USSF). Having said that Stone is a well known streamer (but his true identity is hidden for obvious reasons) that seems to play a lot of battle royale type of games when he’s not busy with his military position (which seems to be never). USSF is the laughing stock of all US military branches which is why after 5 years after it’s inception the USSF is heavily underfunded. With little to no oversight this gang of misfits do not take their military positions seriously with the exception of Hale (Ha-Lay and if you get that wrong in front of her, you might regret it!).

As USSF is officially being dismantled and everybody is being sent home, Aliens take all military bases around the world hostage. This is done via dead zone force field and now it’s up to the dysfunctional Space Force to save Earth in a battle royale, humans vs. aliens; the prize Earth.

The vulgarity mixed with wit is what makes Stone’s one liners worth replaying this book. I had so many laugh out loud moments and going back 30 seconds to listen to the great lines delivered though out the book. I highly recommend this book which combines great science fiction with laugh out loud comedy. I know that I will definitely play this book again some time in the future.
