The first-person, present-tense narrative made the story very cumbersome to take seriously. It read like a 5th Graders “My Crazy Apocalyptic Day” essay. What made this story even more burdensome to digest was the performance of the readers; the uniform rhythm of both created an oral ennui that was only slightly remedied but adjusting the speed to 1.35. Very few variations in voice intonations for different characters and nearly any dramatic deviations from the same droning voice undulations made the story crap-tastic to listen to.
