So this book is from 1990 or earlier, it definitely shows. The beginning drags a little with some stereotypical archetypes and a number of characters you’re meant to care about, but half of them come off too unlikable. The whole small town vibe is a boon to many stories but here just allows awful behavior. By the time these bummers start to add up the horror starts. That part is solid with all the gore and intensity you could want. It carries the last half of the book and keeps it a fun experience.
The narration is good, though I’ll admit there were a few times I wish the narrator didn’t try female voices. On the whole however he did good and his narration aided the frenetic intensity of the work.
I received the review code for this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this honest review. It’s a pretty straight forward creature feature but it’s fun and definitely worth checking out if that sounds up your alley.
