Amelia Faulkner’s story is about how two broken people — a beleaguered florist and an earl in denial – met and became best friends (with one looking for more while the other not at all aware of what he wants or needs). It’s full of humor, passion, sadness, anger, action, and ultimately redemption (HFN). This is Book 1 of Season 1 and each book ends on its own but each subsequent book builds on the previous to give readers a richer experience. Joel Leslie did a wonderful job with a narration (esp. Quentin’s parts) but I am not enamored of Laurence’s voice (and when it comes to Miriam’s voice, it just felt so off). But it is a wonderful narration overall and delivers the impact of the story very well. Totally recommended.
