Peril by Post is part of the wonderful John Pickett Mysteries series. John Pickett is a Bow Street Runner, London’s first professional police force. He is sent to the lake country on a working honeymoon with his wife, Julia, to try to find out who was trying to summon Bow Street and why. While investigating, Julia sees a murder in the distance but is too far away to identify the guilty party. Who did it and why?
I love this series! The narrator is so good that the book sounds like a full cast production. The characters are vivid and believable. I look forward to listening to the other books in the series.
