Firstly, the book was good and Kevin Pierce preformed well. Part of the reason I chose this book was because I was looking for post-social collapse novel and this was a box set; those typically get me through the work week ok.

interlaced in the story was a lot of tips towards prepping for and surviving in such a situation. Which was excellent as that was why I was looking for a post social collapse novel. Paying close attention to some of these details could make a huge difference, the author even includes an intermission which provides what is basically an ad for their Seven Step Survival Plan. The PDF is free and can be found at prepperrecon.com or by searching Seven Step Survival Plan.

Now to address the part I didn’t like and reason I’m returning this title…

I saw in the description it was less focused on the “hard reality” and had a lot of influence of the bible. That’s fine, I figured the moral implications forced on dedicated Christians would be an interesting spin. And it was.

However, there was a lot of views brought up which put a damper on the enjoyability of the book. Beyond those though, the story is actually VERY influenced and motivated by biblical views. The amount of which I feel like should’ve earned a little more mention in the description so Caveat Emptor if that’s not your thing.

I’m not an atheist but I’m also not big on religion. I believe in God and Christ. Even still, if not for the amount of religious views in this book, it would’ve been a great listen.

Actually, if the religion was cut back about 20% it wouldn’t have made any difference in some of the decisions made by the characters and it seems like it’s there more to preach to the reader about religion as much as being prepared for such an occurrence.
