This was a surprisingly good book from a seemingly unknown author who could hold his own against the most well-known authors in the business. This story was so good I couldn’t stop listening. The characters were realistic and the creativity of the author was fantastic.

During an ongoing war with an alien species, Earth has established colonies to monitor for and potentially fight off an incoming alien force. The main character is a mechanic and maintenance supervisor for the colony.

While out on an unauthorized mission to clean up a career-destroying mistake made by his friend, his small shuttle crashes. Using all of his knowledge of the equipment and systems on the colony, he must get word of his whereabouts back to the main base if he is ever going to be rescued. This becomes increasingly difficult as he realizes that not only was his shuttle attacked, but an undetected alien force could be preparing to attack the colony.

Now with more than just his fate hanging in the balance, he must do all he can to warn the colony or stop the alien force himself.

The Narrator did a really great job and sounded just like I thought the main character would. I never once got caught up in a word pronunciation or voice that he used, which is something that almost always happens to me at least once while listening to an audiobook.

I requested and received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, publisher, or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review. I was NOT required to write a positive review and this reflects my honest opinion of the work.
