It’s hard enough trying to build a relationship between father and daughter where one doesn’t exist, but throw in an apocalyptic event and things become even more challenging.

Sam makes for an interesting character he’s he’s incredibly likeable he’s done amazing things with his life and has wrist his life to save others yet his lack of presence in his daughter’s life is harder to accept. I want to like him and for the most part I do but sometimes his lack of understanding about why Anna is standoffish is frustrating and make him less likeable.

The book is well written it’s got a good flow to it, the dialogue is natural. The characters are well developed and feel real, the descriptions and the world building capture attention without being overly descriptive.

The narrator did a good job with the character voices and the overall flow of the delivery pace of the book. I enjoyed listening to it and I look forward to book two.
