The main character is a bit of a jerk but it works with his motivation. As the book progress you get more and more of his real life back story. This leads to an amazing and dynamic ending that makes me want to get through the next book in one sitting.
The biggest downside to the book is the end of chapter skill lists. I got to the point where I just skipped them.
If you like litrpg this is a great book, with a great story, and a pretty good grind.
