Jack Hunt is one of my favorite writers of dystopian fiction period He is excellent at his characterization and the interplay between people their emotions and actions.
In volume 1 of his new and exciting series, things of gotten bad in the United States due to a even. The main character Sam is an ex military guy and he is trying to reconnect with his daughter. She does not want anything to do with him as she feels that he was never around and she never was able to develop any sort parental relationship with him. Sadly he leaves her and is heading off; Then the event happens – The story then really kicks into a higher gear
Does the father and daughter reconnect? If so how? What is happening to the world around them? How will they survive? This is what we will learn in volume 1 and the ensuing volumes after that. This is a series I am going to be listening to as Mr. Hunts books are always exciting and a fun listen.

Kevin Pierce does the narration and is always good and he does not letdown in this book
